The Educational-information centre (EIC) is opened in October, 2007 Attendance on the average for a day makes - 200-300 persons. It is connected by that ERC represents the versatile information-technological complex functioning on the basis of use modern Internet of technologies, electronic delivery of materials, support of a mode of an interactive videoconference. In fund ERS (more than 3000 copies) domestic and foreign databases on optical compact discs, diskettes, audio and videocassettes, the computer atlases training the programs, electronic textbooks on disciplines of specialities, including the educational editions developed by the faculty of university. Free access is provided to resources the Internet from 30 computers and 15 laptops with WI-Fi a service zone.
In work with electronic resources - use of an interactive board new forms are actively applied to carrying out of employment with students.
For information support of scientific researches and educational process of university and granting of data on library and its information potential for readers it is created - a library Web-site (http://www.lib.ukgu.kz/) which is a component of a Web-site of university.
Automated library system IRBIS is introduced. The electronic catalogue and electronic bibliographic databases with possibility of access of users through the Internet are generated.
The project Electronic library «Works of faculty UKGU of M.Auezova» is introduced. EL «works of PPS UKGU» represents a text-through collection of editions of the educational -methodical literature of teachers UKGU which is accessible to viewing from any computer in territory of the university entering in local general university a network http://asu.ukgu.kz/lib/pps.php.
The library has entered the following electronic forms of service directed on creation of conditions for independent work of students:
• an easy approach in reading rooms to information resources (to electronic catalogues, subject databases, the Internet and to external databases)
• Electronic delivery of documents (EDDAS) on an internal network of university.
• Training of students to using of the electronic catalogue of a new information technology
To services of users it is given text-through databases:
DB «EBSCO» - 5000 text-through electronic magazines on business, social, humanitarian and natural sciences, on technology and medicine;
DB «Заң" - including standard legal certificates of Republic Kazakhstan, with monthly updating.
DB of "KazPatent" - the description of inventions to prepatents and patents «Industrial property»;
DB «ST RK» - Republic Kazakhstan Standards.
