Faculty accreditation is a process by which an accrediting body assesses the quality of a university or individual educational programs of a university in order to recognize their compliance with certain standards and criteria.
Information resources are a collection of information organized for the effective retrieval of reliable information.
Book provision is the adequacy and modernity of educational information sources for all subjects of the curriculum.
Subscription database - a licensed database to which the university subscribes (electronic textbooks, books, magazines from domestic and foreign publishers).
A subject librarian is an expert in a subject area who liaises between the library and faculties across all library services.
Subject librarian
A faculty librarian is an expert in the field of faculty who liaises between the library and the faculties across all library services. Faculty librarians are responsible for maintaining and developing the library collection in their specialty and for establishing links with specific departments within the faculties.
Objectives: to provide information support for the educational and research activities of the M. Auezov Higher Education University faculty, to increase their publishing activity, and to promote library resources and services.
Functional responsibilities of subject librarians:
• to participate in department meetings as much as possible and to ensure direct and effective communication between the library and the faculties on all library services;
• be able to analyze and open the book fund in their field of study;
• provide all necessary information on book availability in various specialties upon faculty request;
• inform the departments of the faculty about new library services and newly received books (textbooks, periodicals);
• assist in the preparation of applications from departments for the acquisition of new educational and scientific literature and regularly check and compare applications with the main fund;
• providing consulting services and conducting training seminars/webinars on working with the library catalog, electronic catalog, self-developed full-text databases, subscription databases, and other electronic resources available to the library.
