On January 30, SerikovTansauleGabdymanapovich, non-staff adviser to the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, paid a working visit to South Kazakhstan University named after M. Auezov in order to get acquainted with the "road map of higher and postgraduate education for citizens with disabilities" recommended by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
Naming the models of education for the disabled in the education system of the republic, Tansaule Gabdymanapovich noted the objectives of the proposed road map. Explained the effectiveness of the proposed option in the roadmap and the expected results, shared a plan for its implementation.
Tansaule Gabdymanapovich visited the center "Inclusive Service" for students with special needs of the Educational Information Center at our university in order to create a barrier-free environment in the infrastructure of the university and got acquainted with the activities of the center, including information and library resources, and create a situation of equal accessibility: the printed and electronic resources of the library are freely available" with three workstations equipped with a computer tiflocomplex, a device for the movement of blind and visually impaired users (ODA), adapted for users with disabilities, SARA™ CE scanning and reading machine for the blind and visually impaired, equipped with typewriters, reading machines, magnifying the text on the screen, our site works 24/7 http://lib.ukgu.kz/, which includes a special NVDA program with an audio service. Braille books were also provided.
Tansaule Gabdymanapovich shared: “Our goal is to ensure that every student, including students with disabilities access to quality education and eliminate barriers!” He gave a positive assessment and thanked the Educational Information Center staff.
